Volunteer Traditions Hats

I'm pleased to discover the addition of state hats to Volunteer Tradition's apparel line. The hat's quality looks phenomenal, which is no surprise, given Volunteer Tradition's reputation and motto "Where State Pride Meets Quality".
The majority of southern states are represented, and I just might have to show some Mississippi pride, as one can never have to many hats, regardless of what the spouse might say.

EOO Approved Collection

Orvis Shotgun Shell Braided Belt- For some reason discontinued off the Orvis website, but available new on Ebay.

Nobadeer Sandwich- From the Jetties . You can't really beat Thanksgiving dinner in sandwich form.

Passion Pit at the 9:30 Club, June 3rd.

Drive-By Truckers at the 9:30 Club, July 23rd. Missed the show at the Recher Theatre, so it's good to hear they are playing the DC area again.

Ole Miss vs. Boise State- Our 2011 Season Opener, Ole Miss stepping up to the plate. Hotty Toddy.
Interesting fact: Houston Nutt's first D1 head coaching job was at Boise St.

Ted Turner

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a Q&A with Ted Turner, a man whom I greatly admire. It was conducted by Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes.
Here are a few quotes I was able to jot down.

"It's better to own a losing baseball team, than no baseball team at all"-On the Atlanta Braves

"I was a classics major, I couldn't read the balance sheets, I had three financial officers, one had a heart attack in my office".

"I lost eight billion dollars in a year, I'm not one to jump out of windows, but I had plenty of reasons to".- Time Warner merger

"The situation could look hopeless, but you could be wrong".

He also mentioned a "sequel" to "Call Me Ted" is in the works, which I'm pretty excited about.

Drive-By Truckers- Live From Austin, TX

I can't put this live DBT album down. Recorded during Austin City Limits 2008. It's the perfect compilation of the Drive-by Truckers- somber at times, three axe attack when necessary.

I don't condone this, but you could quite possibly download the album by searching "Drive-By Truckers Live from Austin TX .rar"

Swimwear- It's about that time.

With the summer upon us, here are some swimwear suggestions.

The North Face Class V Trunk- 6" inseam, belted and versatile. I find myself wearing these to the gym, around town, the pool and the boat.

Patagonia Baggies-7" inseam, generous cut.

I'm also a big fan of 80's bright neon trunks, as found on ebay or patiently waiting to be discovered, forgotten, at the lake or beach house.
